The four month old child of Mrs A G Blackson living with the Callahan family on South Eighth Street was found dead in bed by the mother who had risen for breakfast. Coroner suggests smothering under covers is most probable. Funeral Thursday at Rev Dillins services.
Rumor spread that a conference of Eastern Ohio coal field operators would meet Thursday in Coshocton to discuss a possible strike and escalation. Investigation showed the Eden Valley Coal Co annual meeting will be held Thursday in the company offices with Cleveland leaders War wick Johnson and Charles Cassingham expected.
The official ballot count for The Age Diamond Contest will be Friday night in the city council chamber due to vast interest. Mayor Smith grants the room. judges Ransom Moore Lawrence Secblat and Williams oversee counting and announce results, awarding four diamonds to popular lodge and union members. Voting at The Age office at 7 p m. ballots moved to council chamber for final count at 8 p m. public welcome.
An Age reader noted the diamond contest draws grown up interest as candidates gain votes and business leaders predict a solid coop eration for the project. Voting pressed on at a brisk pace with about 2351 ballots logged yesterday and continued on page four.

Coshocton suffered a destructive blaze on North Fifth street as the basket factory and stock were heavily damaged. Losses estimated around 33000, with the upper main building nearly a total loss and the wooden addition reduced to ground. Firefighters battled hot flames from a wooden addition near the railroad, with water delays hampering control before the main building was saved. The plant, run by John Ahana and P. C. Shipps, employs about nine workers in winter and plans to rebuild for a spring basket season opening.
In Prisbing Pennsylvania a strong vote calls for President Patrick Dolan and Vice President Uriah Bellingham to resign for defying instructions on the old wage scale at Indianapolis. Secretary-Treasurer Dodds faces censure for election to a clerical post. Dolan rejects signing and miners seek change via referendum. Green remains noncommittal about Dolan’s fate.
