Fifty Ninth Indiana Regiment Holds Annual Reunion at Gossport
Twenty six Civil War veterans of the 59th Indiana Regiment attended the reunion in Gossport Owen county last Saturday September 24. John Wagner of Crandall and Henry Friedley of New Amsterdam represented the county. They spoke of good reception and a fine dinner for the Old Vets and visited the former Camp site near the old Fair Grounds where the 54th prepared for the front. Captain Beamer of Spencer delivered the principal address praising the regiment. Miss Eura Saunders of Gossport serves as secretary of the 59th Regiment organization.

Bloomington groom recalls early Indiana travel and life
Mr and Mrs John Bloomfelter of Spencer township near White Cloud visited the Corydon office. Bloomfelter is 92, born in Germany October 11 1838 and came to Indianapolis with his parents about age fourteen. His mother died in Indianapolis and his father Joseph Bloomfelter returned to Germany where he died. A brother remained in Germany. He noted when coming to Indianapolis seventy eight years ago there was only one railroad connecting Indianapolis with Madison.
