The October Pur due Alumnus recounts the tragic death of Purdue University President Dr Winthrop E Stone after a rock climb on a mountain ledge. Mrs Stone describes the fall and her survival on a narrow ledge with scarce water until rescue.
New Salisbury High School traveled to Georgetown to face the local nine due to Palmyra’s cancellation. New Salisbury won 18 to 7 as Gottfried pitched tightly and Fisher homered. Tyler and Hurst split pitching duties for Georgetown while Bealsu Jenkins and Fisher spearheaded NSH S. The game featured strong NSH H hitting and a standout bases loaded sequence. Umpires were Baylor and Dannreuther. scorer Jim Fowler recorded the game.
Marion Reas posed six Civil War veterans in front of Mr. Peas Pool Room and used a Kodak to take a clear picture. The men identified in the image are John W. Blume, Adam Robina, Marquis Crawford, Robert Gibson, Henry Hi Wise, and John Rainbelt.

He notes family visits from Indiana Iowa and Indianapolis and reports Omaha’s growth a 200000 population and butter production from local creameries. Benedict Joseph Flanagan born June 14 1826 in Corydon Harrison County Indiana died October 8 1921 in Aurora Nebraska after months of illness aged 85 years 3 months and 24 days He moved to Aurora in 1916 married Margaret Daily on February 6 1872 and left a wife two sons Dan Lewis two daughters Katie and Mrs Ezro Thompson two grandchildren Ivan Flanagan and Helen Thompson Funeral at St Mary's Catholic Church Aurora conducted by Rev Paul Donovan burial in Aurora cemetery The family notes a poem mourning his passing.

Mr and Mrs J Carleton Bennett of Louisville visited his parents in Harrison County. Mr BR with partner Mr Dugan started a garage at Brook and Jacobs in Louisville. The business already employs seven men and the two mechanics bring years of auto repair experience. They invite Harrison County friends in need of service.
Gov. McCray said in a telegram to Secretary Hoover that work could begin on a five million dollar road construction program in Indiana within 90 days if federal funds are available. The plan aims to provide employment on state roads with federal aid.

The 1 acre parcel includes a small dwelling and will be offered Friday November 4 1921 at 1 PM at Corydon Junction.
