Mrs. Mary E. Rhodes Passes at Hill Grove Home
Mrs. Mary E. Rhodes widow of Isaac Rhodes died October 17 1923 at Hill Grove Ind aged 79. Funeral services were held October 18 at Hill Grove Church with Rev Jesse Shuck officiating and burial in the church cemetery. She left five children Abraham Rhodes Florence Crosby Emma Rhodes and two predeceased children, one son and one daughter. She was a devoted Christian who aided pioneer ministers and kept reading the Bible to the end.

Kenney, formerly of Jackson township and now wife of Kenney, faced sed indictment for the December 1922 drowning death of her child. the 1923 date on the indictment was quashed and a new grand jury will act in November. Bond set at 700 dollars after witnesses for the prosecution would be examined.
