Democrats at Corydon gathered at the courthouse last Saturday to back a municipal ticket for the town election on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. W H Roose was named chairman and Henry Denho dr secretary. nominees include Town Clerk Sion Smouts Treasurer Smith Patterson and ward trustees Morris Fried Cropsey Hickman Vogt.
The Democrat prints a long Roll of Honor with names of subscribers and donors from multiple towns including Elizabeth Corydon Laconia Evansville Indianapolis and more. Ralph Windell, a former Harrison county boy, lost a foot while working on a railroad near Mt Carmel Ill. Thomas Woodward, who struck Mr Thompson of New Amsterdam with a harrow tooth, was moved from Brandenburg jail to Corydon jail last Thursday by Governor's permission.

Ramsey school opens with Mrs Kate Swareneh as teacher.

Dons Carter Joshua Zenor sold their farm to Jones Stewart. B F Wright received the water works engine. Joe Diddlcott visited Bridgeport. Father Gordon led an all day Catholic service. Local youths attended a river road social at Gilbert Hancock's. groundhogs multiply as John Deitsch moves away. Embury and Bridgeport combine teams to play Jackson street of New Albany. final inning yields 12 runs, opponent demoralized. Captain Villier named R R carrier Route 1. Several residents witness Curl and Lyons fire.
Mrs. Clara Kopp wife of John Kopp died last Friday at her home in southeastern Harrison township from typhoid fever after a several weeks illness. The funeral was held Saturday and burial followed at Jordan graveyard. She leaves her husband ten children oldest sixteen youngest under one year and was a daughter of James Glenn of this place.
Edward Wernert died last Friday night at his father Jacob Wernert’s home in Franklin township. He was about 26 and highly respected. The funeral was Sunday at St. Peter’s Church with Rev. Nordsick conducting the service, and he was buried in the churchyard.

Thomas Woodward, jailed after assaulting Hardin Thompson of New Amsterdam. He fled across the river and was held in Brandenburg before a governor’s requisition brought him here. Prosecutors opposed a habeas corpus writ. Thompson sustained a serious head injury but is recovering.

Frank Wate of Rosewood died at home of typhoid fever October 7 at age 19 years 11 months 14 days. The funeral laid him to rest in De Pauw cemetery. He leaves parents a brother and sister and many relatives. A devout member of M E church since 1904 he lived a Christian life and testified for Jesus. He bore suffering patiently and will be missed in home church Sunday school and community.
Clarence Bullett returned home from a foreign voyage with a six person Indiana University party that observed the sun eclipse. They sailed from New York on June 17, toured Europe, and arrived home October 4 after eight weeks in Spain.
