Gas Wells Float in New Middletown Harrison County
The Harrison County Gas Company sunk two gas wells near New Middletown. James Mahan drilled both wells, one near Clarence Gehlbach land and the other on L. A. Mauck farm. Gas is being piped to homes and businesses for fuel and lighting this winter. The town and county anticipate broader gas development as drilling continues.

Dies in Louisville Civil War veteran John Greer
John Greer 84 died Sunday night at his daughter's home in Louisville after a paralysis stroke ten days earlier. Funeral held Tuesday at Rehoboth Church in Boone township led by Rev. D A Burk. He leaves a wife six sons and two daughters including Henry Will Preston Charles Mrs Thompson Brown Joseph Clarence and Mrs Fred Moore. He lived in Louisville with his daughter for years.

Aged German-born man George Henry dies at 87
George Henry a county’s oldest citizen died Sunday night at 6 30 at the Webster township home of Cordin Albin from pneumonia after a brief illness. Born in Germany he was eighty seven years nine months seven days and came to the United States at eighteen after residence in Louisville most of his life then moving to this county. He is survived by three children John and George Henry of Louisville and Mrs Louisa BE Albin of Webster township fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. three sisters Mrs M Knight Mrs K Killan and Miss Oradel Henry all of Louisville and one brother Jacob Henry of Louisville. Funeral services were held at the German Reformed Church in New Middletown Monday afternoon conducted by Rev A Reuhlman with burial in the church cemetery.

Auto In Crash Near West Point Injures Four
Albert Cooper of Louisville was riding with Mrs. C. F. Ferree and her sons Joseph James and Tony Ferree when the car overturned in a ditch three miles south of West Point. James Ferree suffered a badly lacerated hand and three others were severely bruised as they were pinned beneath the wreckage. The car struck a tree and landed upside down in front of Virgil Triplett's home.
