Harrison Post 128 American Legion will hold a meeting in the Legion room Corydon next Saturday night to discuss Memorial Day and Fourth of July plans. All legionaires and ex service men are urged to attend.
Death of William Ripperdan After Two Week Illness
William Ripperdan died at his home four miles south of Corydon on the Mauckport pike after a two week illness of complications. He had been in poor health for years and was bedfast briefly. A brief funeral was held at his residence and burial followed in Cedar Hill cemetery. Born February 18, 1851, he spent his life in the county and was 72 years old. He leaves a wife.

Tucker Dudley Horse Dealer Dies in New Albany
Tucker Dudley a well known horse dealer died at his home in New Albany after a yearlong illness from Brights Disease. He will be buried in St Louis Cemetery. The deceased formerly resided in Corydon.

Tri Kappas Entertain Guests With Oberammergau Talk
Beta Chi Chapter of the Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority hosted about one hundred Corydon residents at Mr and Mrs L Keller home. Miss Virginia Cravens spoke on her Oberammergau Passion Play visit and answered questions. A musical program preceded the talk and brick ice cream and cake followed. The event received high praise as a fine evening for Corydon people.

George Windish dies in Louisville
George Windish of Louisville died at his home on 833 South Sixth Street on Tuesday morning after more than six months of stomach cancer. He was sixty eight on May 30 and leaves a wife six children Conrad George Carrie Ward Amelia Anna Lorena and five grandchildren. Burial will be at Cave Hill Cemetery. he attended the Baitheran church and had worked at Courier Journal Job Printing.

Ice Plant Planned for Corydon by New Albany Company
The National Tea and Product Company of New Albany will erect an ice plant in Corydon. Construction has begun on a 20 by 40 foot interior in a spire across from the depot. N V Troutman will oversee the project with Bruce Markel in charge when operational. They hope to start in June and may ship ice from New Albany if needed.

Infant Geneva Parker Dies Soon After Birth
The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs John Parker of near Rosewood died Friday May 18 aged one day. Burial occurred Saturday May 19. The babe was named Geneva. Lester Childers of South Corydon, Thompson Wandle Factory employee, was brought to Louisville last Monday for appendicitis surgery and was accompanied by Mr and Mrs Clem Bussabarger. He is reported to be recovering.

Widow of Dr Voyles Dies in New Albany at 81
Mrs Susan Ann Voyles widow of Dr D W Voyles died at her daughter Mrs Andres Rasmussen on Old Vincennes Road New Albany aged eighty one. She died of heart failure after a sudden illness. Survived by three daughters Mrs Hettie Levy Mrs Sarah Ellis of New Albany and Mrs Charles Brubeck Denver Colo and three sons Lyman Voyles New Albany Stephen H Voyles and David W Voyles of St Louis Mo. The late Dr Voyles formerly lived north of Crandall and later served as New Albany postmaster and as collector of claims in St Louis.

Paul Miller Buried After Accidental Shot Death
Paul Miller nine, victim of a Saturday shooting in Moose Jaw, will be buried Tuesday afternoon from Broadfoot's funeral home to Rosedale Cemetery. Coroner Dr J M Hourigan and the Saskatchewan Provincial Police ruled the death accidental and no inquest will be held. The boy, son of Mr and Mrs Straud E Miller of 246 Stadacona Street East, died at noon after discharging a shotgun in a farm shack three miles east of town while accompanying friends to the Uncles farm. The pumpkin 12 gauge shotgun had been cocked and was left in a corner. investigators believe the weapon discharged as the boy turned away.

Fearful Truck Crash Near Edwardsville Injures Teen
A rock truck left the highway east of Corydon toward Edwardsville crashing down a bluff of eighty to one hundred feet. Raymond Emily, son of Wilford and wife, was driving when the steering locked and the vehicle toppled. He survived with bad bruises and was improving at St Edward’s hospital. A fellow rider escaped unharmed. two others disembarked before the overhang. It required a full day to pull the truck back onto the road.

G J Green of Milwaukee visited Corydon for a Railroaders Oil stockholders meeting and renewed his local newspaper subscription. He traveled with Willian Hauke from Florida via a motor car outfitted as a bed and returned to Milwaukee. Hauke earlier drove to Florida last fall. In Florida, Hauke reportedly caught a 43 pound King fish, near the record 45 pounds.
