Death of Mrs. Charlotte L. O Bannon in Taylor Township
Mrs. Charlotte Louella Cooper O Bannon, wife of Ferdinand H. O Bannon, died at home in Taylor township after a several weeks illness. Funeral services were held at Rehoboth church in Boone township with Rev. J G Moore and Rev. D A Parks officiating and music by Corydon and Laconia musicians. Burial was at Stehoboth cemetery. Obituary notes she was born May 13 1858 in Harrison county Indiana married July 10 1883, survived by husband three children two daughters and one son Maurice H Lille May Mrs Herbert Johnson, three grandchildren and three sisters. She was a Glenwood Presbyterian and known as a faithful wife and mother.

Young woman injured in Buskirk school road accident
Miss Fern Lasley suffered serious head injuries and bruising when a horse stepped into a deep hole on the Buskirk school road south of Corydon last Friday night. The buggy overturned, harness torn, and lighting plus wet road blamed for the crash with Miss Violet Lasley and Marshall Kitterman assisting.

Shireman Spends Week With Parents Before Wisconsin Season
Earl Shireman, cornetist with the Art Payne orchestra from Louisville, stayed several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Shireman. The group plays at Waverly Beach Wisconsin until October and then moves to St. Petersburg Florida for the winter. The orchestra has performed at Hawaiian Garden Louisville and venues in Evansville New Albany and Richmond Indiana. A classified note offers a trade for one extra day of automobile use.

Third graders presented The Sleeping Beauty while 21 pupils received one dollar prizes for memory contest work. The group reviewed the year, announced contest rules, and prepared to present a Pilgrims painting to the fourth grade as the attendance prize.

Pleasant closing of School No. 21 Harrison township event
The Harrison township School No. 21 closed Friday May 11 with an old fashioned dinner and spelling bee. About 11:30 patrons arrived with baskets and enjoyed a bountiful meal prepared by neighborhood women. Afternoon featured games singing and a spelling bee with all taking part. Roscoe Toler the teacher and George Kopp spoke. Patrons hope Mr. Toler returns.

Charles Rissler Dies at 63 in Corydon Area
Charles Rissler died after months of heart disease at his family home near New Salisbury. He was 63 and is survived by his wife three sons Eugene Ruswell and Leanna two daughters Charles Rissler of Perry County and Mrs Mary Jackson of New Albany two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be at Corydon A B Church Thursday at 11 with Rev Eskew officiating. Burial in Corydon cemetery.
