David James of Georgetown reports to Corydon businessmen that piping from the Laconia Gas Field will connect five wells into the Corydon main. Wet weather slows laying, but gas is expected to reach Corydon by the last of May. Also listed for sale are White Pekin duck eggs at 75 cents a dozen.

The Corydon Girls defeated Catholic Community Center of New Albany 17 to 4 on Unity Y M C A floor. They then beat Nazareth College Girls 9 to 8 after three five minute periods, led by Alta Swan Marjorie Gailey Imogene Flock Kathryn Jones and Helen Drew Christley with Ruth Jordan and Dorothy Daley as substitutes. Aunt Mag Grable Injured in Fall at Home

Aunt Mag Grable, an elderly woman over eighty, fell at her home last Saturday. She dislocated her left shoulder, an injury described as very severe, leaving her nearly helpless and using crutches for support amidst great pain.

Windell couple visit Greensburg orphanage to adopt girl

Mr and Mrs John L Windell of Washington township traveled to Greensburg to view the Felons Home and chose a bright twelve year old girl to join their family. They have no children and after losing a daughter at age two and a son at around twenty hope the home offers a suitable guardianship. The Windells praised the Home’s elegance and suitability after years of searching Louisville and other places for an ideal orphan.

Mrs John Yeager Dies of Heart Trouble in Heth Township

Mrs. John Yeager aged seventy three died at her home in Heth township on Friday March 24 after a weeks long illness from heart leakage. She leaves eleven children with four surviving including Mrs. John Frank Miss Anna Yeager Edward Yeager and Fred Yeager of Heth township. She also survives three brothers Lewis Cromwell Corydon Wesley Cromwell New Albany and Fielding Cromwell Elizabeth and two sisters Mrs Frank Miller and Mrs Baker Eckhart Dogwood. Funeral services were held Sunday at Otterbein Chapel with Rev. E M Cornwell Mauckport officiating and burial followed. Mrs Amanda Thomas of Crandall died March 28 at home of her daughter in Miles after a complication of diseases.
