Death of Aged Woman in Corydon Area
Mrs. Rebecca E. Knight widow of Captain Ebenezer Knight died at her son Thomas W. Knight’s home near Corydon from old age. Funeral services were held at Elizabeth Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. J. G. Moore. burial in Rose Hill cemetery. Born January 24, 1838, she was 89 years 4 months 9 days old. Surviving children: Mrs. Elen Pine, Thomas W. Knight, Mrs. Ida Glaze, Emma Macey, James Knight, Charles Knight. Husband died August 11, 1911. She joined Riverside Presbyterian Church 11–12 years ago and remained faithful.

W H Flora as receiver for The Corydon National Bank conducted a public sale of the bank building and adjacent property on June 2. The Old Capital Bank and Trust Company bid $35,000 for the buildings and fixtures, with Miss Flora Kleber holding a right to $8,000, bringing total cost to $43,000 including the lot lease and adjoining building. The Corydon State Bank bid to acquire but planned to construct a new bank site elsewhere.

Mr and Mrs W H Dyer of this place enjoyed a reunion with their three children and three grandchildren at the home of their son Robert Dyer in New Albany for a few days last week. On Sunday June 4 1922 the writer and Jesse Byrn with family traveled in Byrn Ford to Salem to visit sisters Mrs Lincoln Knapp and family and Mrs Conrad Reinhardt and family. Prohibition Officers Raid County Stills and Moonshine Near Corydon
Federal officers raided premises in Blue River township near Corydon Friday and Saturday. Graves Pendleton and Richard Anger were jailed with bonds set at 800 and 500 dollars for liquor violations. Pendleton and Anger face court after waivers of preliminary hearings. A large copper still was later found in Posey township on Cap Villier’s farm near Locust Point and taken to the county jail.

A Ford touring car carrying six people from Louisville including Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Ridge and three children and H. A. Welch turned over Sunday afternoon on the Corydon pike opposite Ed Bruch’s home. Mrs Ridge drove and passed too close to the bank causing the front wheel to drop over the bank. the car rolled onto its side, striking a wire fence ten feet from the road. No serious injuries reported.
