Miller Opens New Electric Shop One Door East of Post Office

Millers Electric Shop owner E G Miller relocates to a new storefront one door east of the Post Office and plans to open this week. He has sold Willys Light and Electric Power plants for three years and will offer electrical appliances lighting fixtures and wiring materials for farm and town use. Miller has operated in Corydon and the county for six years and enjoys public confidence.

Death of John Byers in Akron Ohio shocks family

Telegram to Thomas J. Stevens announced the death of his son in law John Byers of Akron after an appendicitis operation last Thursday. He was thirty five, survived by wife Olive Stevens and a young son J George Byers. Reared at Brazil with relatives there, the remains go to Corydon for burial. funeral plans were not set. Mrs Stevens, mother of Mrs Byers, went to Akron and will accompany the remains.

Nicholas Eve Dies In Webster Township After Illness

Former county commissioner Nicholas Eve dies at his Webster Township home after a long cancer illness. Funeral services set for New Middletown Catholic Church at ten on Wednesday morning. Eureka Stockholders Elect Officers At County Meeting

Eureka Telephone Company held its annual meeting in Corydon with over eleven hundred votes cast. Wood Yeager was elected President, Joseph Haas Vice President, Lula Reising Secretary, Nellie Bussabarger Treasurer, and new directors named for four districts. Election boards operated from one to five in the afternoon and counted ballots through Sunday morning. the company serves nearly 2000 stockholders across the county.

Fishing Party Brings Home Thirty Pounds of River Catch

N R Davidson L Brengman Joe Wright and Edward Hoehstrasser of Corydon went to Blue River last Friday and caught about thirty pounds of fish including a fifteen pound cat. The group enjoyed a river outing with families Sunday and held a fish fry. They also visited Leavenworth in the afternoon.

Obituary: Mrs Annie Sonner Dies After Long Illness

Mrs Annie Sonner of Washington township near Valley City died last Thursday after a long paralysis related illness. She would have turned seventy in August and leaves a husband, eight children, two brothers, one sister, and many relatives. Funeral services were held at Wesley Chapel M. E. Church with Revs Moore and Rosier officiating. She was a devoted Methodist and active in her community. The obituary notes her birth as Anna Rachel Hisey on August 18 1805 and marriage to Geo W Sonner on November 21 1872 with eleven children born in total. three predeceased.
