Lightning struck the Albert Stover barn on Saturday afternoon between 1 and 2 o'clock, completely destroying a 40 by 70 foot main structure with an ell and shed. The full contents including grain, wagons, and stock were burned. loss about 2500 dollars with 1500 dollars insured. Stover plans to rebuild and separate stock from grain.

George Fulner was acquitted in Justice Rush's court of assault and battery with intent to commit murder in Elizabeth last Tuesday. He also was cleared in a peace warrant action by Frank and John Deitsch. A June 22 shooting affray followed over a cow trespass, with both sides wounded. Major W. Fuck defended Fulner. Prosecutor Luckett led the case. Indictments against Frank and John Deitsch remain pending in Justice Hunter's court for similar charges.
