Mrs Hattie Viola Sims wife of Jel Sims died at her Corydon home January 24 1928 aged 42 years four weeks. She left husband six children two menial kin and a grandchild. funeral at Strimmers Chapel conducted by Rev J F Toombs with a quartet and piano accompaniment. Burial was in the nearby cemetery.

Red Brick Hotel Targeted for Removal in Corryden

The Red Brick Hotel across from the Democrat office, once the Tabler then Martin and Fravel Hotels, is being torn down after Barrison County bought the lot for a court house. Mr. Fravel occupies part of the building during removal. The site has housed guests for forty two years.

Child Dies During Visit in New Amsterdam

Velda Fay Thompson died at age one year two months while visiting her grandparents in New Amsterdam. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Jesse Thompson of Leavenworth. Funeral services were held at the family home and burial followed in New Amsterdam cemetery.

Aged Woman Dies in Boone Township Home

Mrs. Mutthap Jennings died Friday morning at SiNofelock in Boone township after a declining illness. The widow of Robert Jennings aged seventy eight, she left two daughters and three sons, Emma Hunter Jerrison Chaffin John William and Ben Jennings. Funeral services were held Saturday at eleven conducted by Rev. Cornwall with burial in Otterbein cemetery.

Cecil Stevens six months and eighteen days old died Monday at his parents home after two weeks of illness from flu pneumonia and complications.
