A religiously staged auction at Park Side church in Flatbush used masked men as “lots” to dramatize unemployment under the wealthiest city’s gaze. Fifty men were presented, six were sold to employers while others awaited aid, as Rev John J. Long and Ed ward O Loughlin led the demonstration and called for relief. John D Rockefeller declined attendance by telegram.

Book Tea Spurs Library Support in Corydon
The Woman's Literary Club of Corydon hosted a Book Tea at the Funk and Keller homes on February 16 to benefit the Corydon Library Association. Nearly 100 townspeople attended and 119 books were donated by many residents, including Mrs. Ruth Funk and Mrs. Ed Keller, with a program of solos, readings, and school orchestra performances.
