Corydon High School Tames Hardinsburg In Basketball Clash

Corydon High School beat Hardinsburg 16 to 14 in a season game last Saturday. Ros Stevens was absent for Corydon while Harold McIntosh led Hardinsburg with nine points. Center Ray Stevens added seven for Corydon and captain Frederick scored three field goals. The game ended 16 to 14 after a strong second half by Corydon, with an 8 to 4 halftime margin. Next Friday Corydon faces West Baden as interest rises. Lineups note Corydon Frederick 6, Stevens 7, McIntosh 9. Hardinsburg McIntosh 9, Fouts 4, Wolfe 2. Referee Hamilton. Umpire Bean. Four of Us entertain Corydon at the Auditorium

A New Albany Lyceum Association group performed in Corydon last Friday evening offering music vocal solos quartets and piano harp and violin numbers. Mrs Bertha Schuler Van Pelt topped the program with German Folk Songs while Miss Shhrader Ella Lawrence Gardner and Mrs Margaret Rowe Clark impressed as violinist harpist and pianist. The piece was praised as high class and pleasing with an editorial note about the editor missing the show. I. M. Berman promotes neckwear in the ad at 25c and 50c.

Debating Duels on Commission Form Government

Indiana University affirmative team and DePauw University negative team debated whether counties should adopt a Commission Form of Government. Four speakers presented fifteen minute arguments with five minutes for rebuttal while Prof. Blood presided. Audience input followed with opinions on the proposal.

D A R Meeting At Hoosier Elm Chapter In 1915

D A R members met December 6 1915 at Mrs R L Millers home. The session opened with The Lord's Prayer and America with a Christmas reading by the roll call. Mrs Catharine Jordan Wilson spoke on Vincennes Indiana's Territorial Capitol and Mrs Georgia Lemmon Vogt on Indianapolis Indiana's Present Capitol. Refreshments followed and the group adjourned to meet January first.

Mrs. Blanche Greer Dies After Long Illness Near Genoa

Mrs. Blanche Greer wife of Henry Greer died at their Genoa Colorado home after a long pulmonary illness. They moved from Franklin township to Genoa three years ago for health relief. She leaves a husband three children Lorenzo Callie Blanche and Audrey a father and mother Rudolph Guy Louis and Laura Ferree and three brothers and a sister. Burial details not confirmed. She was about forty years old.

Harrison County High Debates On Athletics And Munitions Exports

Students Carl Wagner Visa Sims and Edna Davis were absent due to illness while the Junior and Senior English classes debated whether inter high school athletics should be abandoned in Harrison County, the negative winning two to one. The next topic will be US exports of munition to belligerents. The lab gains a coal stove, the orchestra rehearses, and a program features a performance of How Betsy Made the Flag. The women's relief corps presented a 9x12 flag, with speakers praising patriotism, followed by Old Glory raised as the Star Spangled Banner played.
