Wilson Appeals for Funds for Red Cross War Relief

President Wilson issues a Thanksgiving appeal urging Americans to donate to the Red Cross as its resources near exhaustion. He notes 21.6 million raised, 4,000 personnel and nearly 4,000,000 pounds of supplies, with only about 50,000 pounds left for winter relief. Union Thanksgiving Services Highlight Community Unity

A union Thanksgiving service at the Presbyterian church drew clergy from three congregations Rev Flynn of the M E church delivering the sermon. An offering raised 25 dollars for those in need and future services were announced to be held at the United Brethren church with the Christian church pastor preaching.

Wheat in Indian Creek spills from White Mill bin

The White Mill suffered a heavy loss last Wednesday night when about one hundred bushels of good wheat escaped from a large bin into the creek. Donors chose not to recover water soaked grain, and some residents took shares for chicken feed while others stocked up.

Mauckport Nabs Southern Title After Forfeit

The Harrison county southern division baseball final between Mauckport and Elizabeth HS ended 4 to 6 at the Fair Grounds last Wednesday. An Elizabeth player was ruled ineligible for grades, so the game was forfeited to Mauckport, awarding them the division championship and barring Elizabeth from the Field Meet.
