Pneumonia Claims Martha Smith Near Corydon
Mrs. Martha Smith wife of Nathan Smith died at her home one mile east of Corydon last Friday evening after a five day illness of pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the family home Sunday at ten conducted by Rev. M. C. Patterson and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery Elizabeth. She leaves a husband one daughter two sons seven grandchildren two brothers and three sisters.

Death of Old Soldier James Vibbert in Corydon Junction
James Vibbert died at his home in Corydon Junction after ten days of pneumonia at age eighty. A Civil War Union veteran of Co B 144th Indiana Inf he leaves a wife and brother Edward Wibbert, both of Corydon Junction. Funeral services will be held at Wood's Chapel Ramsey today at one o clock with burial in Wood's Chapel cemetery conducted by Rev Curtis Hs ken of Corydon Junction.

The Harrison County Field Meet at the Fair Grounds drew about 1500 spectators from eight schools including Elizabeth, New Salisbury, Corydon, DePauw, New Middletown, Mauckport, and New Amsterdam. Elizabeth won the pennant with 56 points, Corydon 45, and awards honored sportsmanship. Mauckport and New Salisbury split basketball and baseball results, while Corydon Vocational provided lunch funds to support a corn judging team trip.

Another Old Citizen Gone John Fink Dies at Elizabeth Home
John Fink died at his Elizabeth home at dawn on April 18. Born October 11, 1848 in Pennsylvania he joined the U S Navy at 21 during the Civil War. He married Margaret Potts fifty four years ago and leaves four sons Samuel Jesse John Henry Clinton and three daughters Minnie Altha and Mrs Fred Clark. Samuel John Henry and Minnie preceded him in death. Funeral service led by Rev. Edwin Kitt pastor M E church.

Fire at Elizabeth Wednesday morning April 18 destroyed a large warehouse with forty tons of Barnes Bros. fertilizer and tobacco from Charles Sullivan. Origin unknown with no insurance. Dr Winders barn also caught fire several times but was extinguished each incident.

Death of Eugene A. Bary at Frenchtown Indiana
Eugene A. Bary one of Harrison County's oldest citizens died at his Frenchtown home early Thursday. Funeral at St Bernard's Church Frenchtown with burial beside his wife. He was born April 8 1843 and died April 19 1923 aged 80. He served as assessor trustee and County Commissioner and sat on a Federal jury in Indianapolis.

Two Men Die In Auto Crash Near New Albany
A collision on the Corydon pike just after dark last Sunday killed W. D. Bartholomew and H. H. Wassing, both of Louisville, aged 56 and 45. Townsend of Louisville, the driver of the third car, survived. The crash involved a party returning from town with several out of state passengers. Police note alcohol involvement for the deceased and Townsend.
