The Chicago Group plans to vote its Eureka shares in favor of selling Eureka Telephone Company to Continental Telephone Company of St. Louis. Eureka shareholders face an April 29 vote. transfer terms swap about 20 Continental shares for each Eureka share, subject to FCC and PSC approvals.

Harrison County National Farmers Organization members have prepaid 1968 dues to back the national milk price campaign. Kenneth Morgan says about 18 members paid $25 in advance, with nightly meetings and tape messages from NFO president Oren Lee Staley. Larry Ordner Speaks at District Optimist Contest

Larry Ordner of Corydon Central High School spoke at the Optimist Club District Speaking Contest in Evansville after winning the local event. The theme was Patriotic Citizenship Needs Optimism. Ordner did not place in the district contest. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ordner of Corydon.

Annual Meeting Of T B Association Hears Of Seal Gains

The Harrison County Tuberculosis Association held its annual meeting Tuesday with eleven members present. The group reported Christmas Seal Sales totaling 2923.30 the largest in the county. Funds support school TB testing and county X ray programs. James D. Williams was re elected president Marvin McCrady vice president and Mrs Arville Wiseman treasurer.

Rudy Willis, a North Central senior, wins the Keller Company scholarship of 1000 dollars. He plans to take a course at IU this summer, work at the Keller plant part time, and become a full time IU student in the fall. The award funds four years of college and includes a summer work option.

Directors Elected Report Presented At Co-op Meeting

Five directors were elected and a rosy financial report presented at the Harrison-Floyd Farm Bureau Co-op annual meeting Thursday night. Ora Callahan of the Indiana Farm Bureau delivered the address. Logan Baker was reelected to the Board, defeating Charles Book, at Corydon Central High School gym with over 300 members present.

Annual Harrison County Music Festival at Corydon High Gym

A select group of student musicians from Harrison County high schools will perform at the Annual Harrison County Music Festival Friday night in the Corydon Central High School gym. Guest conductor Michael Heckrone of Butler University and Chorus Director James E. Van Peursem lead the 104-member band and 100-plus choir in a program including The Music Man selections and Beethoven.

Grandson of Mrs. Wells Receives Silver Star

John W. Libs, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Libs of Evansville, earns the Silver Star for extraordinary heroism April 11, 1966 in Vietnam. As platoon leader during a search and destroy mission his unit faced heavy Viet Cong fire. He supervised evacuations, helped repel the attack, and fired a machine gun after the gunner was wounded.

Cooking School Draws Harrison County Merchants

More than a dozen Harrison County merchants back the 16th Annual Cooking School in Corydon Central High School gym. Miss Janet Krupa will lecture and demonstrate while 500 plus women attend. Door prizes, refreshments, and gifts from local stores highlight the Saturday program starting at 1 30 p m with registration and literature during the intermission.
