Martha Love of Lanesville died at St Edwards Hospital New Albany after a brief illness. Aged 71 years 3 months 10 days she joined United Brethren church at Concord in the winter of 1881. She leaves a brother Arthur Green Cast le of Greencastle sister Mary Rogse of Mauckport and several half siblings and many relatives. Funeral held at Mt Atom UL Bo church Heth township Mauckport conducted by Rev M C Patterson. Burial Mt Zion cemetery. An obituary praised her motherly care and faithful life.

Mrs Catherine Knoell aged about sixty died in Lanesville on March 26 1923 after a string of family losses with her mother father and brother all predeceased. She leaves her husband William Knoell seven children and several siblings. Funeral was held March 28 from St John Evangelical Lutheran church conducted by Rev Otte Selvin. Mrs Anna B Scharf died at her home in New Middletown after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at the New Middletown USB church with Rev J G Moore and Rev W D Rosenbarger officiating. Burial was in the German Reformed cemetery. She was 49, married 1896 to Andrew Scharf who died in 1900, leaving two daughters Mrs Enna Rosenbarger and Miss Annabel Scharf and a son in law Niner Rosenbarger. She served 14 years with Eureka Telephone Co. and was esteemed for her courtesy and reliability.

Mrs. Katie Riddle widow of William Emery Riddle died at her Corydon home after a brief pneumonia illness. Born April 16, 1854 in Crawford County, she would have turned 69 this month. She and William F. Riddle married in 1878 and left six children, four surviving along with eight grandchildren.
