Little Girl Dies in Detroit After Illness

Bettie Louise Straub, one year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Straub, died at College Hospital Detroit March 3 after two weeks with bronchial pneumonia. Oxygen therapy and Edison Company support were used. Burial followed in Corydon with services at the M. I. church officiated by Rev. J. T. Moore. Remains accompanied by family. burial in Cedar Hill cemetery.

Mr Irvin Bobbitt of English Dies at 72

Mr Irvin Bobbitt father of Archie Bobbitt Crawford county Auditor died at his English Indiana home Thursday night March 22 at 4 50 oclock aged seventy two. Funeral held Sunday March 25 at Eckerty Christian church with Masonic lodge honors. Survived by wife and four children. He was not brother to the late Rev Crees Tobbitt formerly pastor of the crydon Christian church.

U B Meetings Close at TB Church Series Ends

The TB church held close of series services led by Rev J T Toombs who is recovering, with Rev J G Moore and Methodist congregation praising the meetings. Mr Roble and wife aided the effort with singing and preaching described as spiritual. The note also advertises Ford and Chevrolet secondhand cars for sale at Hlorn's Garage behind Keller's Store.

Dr Edward Pell to Speak at Corydon Religious Conference

Dr Edward Leigh Pell will lecture and lead religious conferences in Corydon April 8 and 9. The program at Corydon Methodist Church auditorium includes sermons and Bible study with topics to be announced. committee members urge Sunday school teachers and all religious workers to attend for inspiration and uplift.

Death of Prominent Citizen William Gonterman

Obituary recalls William O Gonterman born November 1 1864 married Jennie Frakes on his 25th birthday four children four grandchildren and a faithful life. He died March 22 1923 at Nt Edwards hospital New Albany after a short illness aged 58 years four months and twenty one days. Funeral held at Rogers Camp Ground with Rev W H Howerton officiating.

Shot by Brother Wounds Five-year-old in Washuteton County

Five year old Fagene Braugh was seriously wounded last Friday when his eight year old brother, who found a loaded revolver in a buren drawer, pulled the trigger. The ball lodged behind the ear and the child received X ray treatment at St Edward's hospital. An operation was performed to remove the bullet. The family, living with grandparents Frank and Mrs Brugh, recently suffered the death of the mother and a two year old drowning in a jar of water.

Mrs. LEO Payne dies after operation in New Albany

Mrs. Leo Payne 34 died Wednesday March 14 at St Edward’s Hospital New Albany after an operation. She is survived by husband Len Payne eight children Eleanor Mildred Alvin Catherine Dorothy Effie Virginia Frances one sister Miss Effie Tuell Corydon and grandmother Mrs Martha Coombs. Love Case Continues After Witness Absence

The case against Star Love and William Barksdale for robbery was continued due to missing witnesses. Coleman, an elderly Palmyra resident, testified about $300 taken. Barksdale sought a judge change from Judge Wilson with Judge Paris assigned to try him.

Fire destroys poultry house and chicks at Bruce Stevens

Alarm sounded Monday evening near Crandall at eight o'clock. Fire originated in a large poultry house with a brooder. About 250 chicks two weeks old were destroyed along with the building. Logs loss not learned.

Crandall Man Jacob Reinhardt Dies at 66

Jacob Reinhardt of near Crandall died suddenly Monday after a heart trouble episode during a fire alarm. He fell after a head cut, later recovering briefly, then died. He left a wife two sons and two daughters Mrs George King Ea Reinhardt Mrs Fred Munzer and Chris Reinhardt. Funeral was held Wednesday at Crandall M R church with Rev Montgomery officiating. burial in Bethlehem cemetery.

Judge Thuring Hears Johnson v Cousin Title Suit in Corydon

Judge Fred A. Thuring of Rockport served as special judge and tried Edward Johnson against John Cousin over a lot title. With regular court in session, the trial occurred in the Commissioners room and was taken under advisement until the next term.

Calvin I Emily known as Dock died at St Edwards hospital New Albany from burns after his clothes caught fire from a lamp at his brother Millard F Emily’s house in south west Corydon The blaze destroyed the Barb residence and injured several others including Roy Evans and John Lee Firefighters saved nearby buildings and Mrs Mary Curpediber and Mrs Baxley homes were damaged The funeral will be held at Hursttown under the LO O F Lodge.
