Council Plans Redraft of Through Street Ordinance
City council to redraft the through street ordinance after state highway department recommendations. Protests are expected against designating a through route for Highway 277 via Union, Church, Northwest, Pleasant, First, Main streets, and others, with concerns over traffic cuts and safety. The Roosevelt Highway route 6 gains broad support, and a new traffic light at Smithy and Harwood could be installed to address the evolving traffic pattern.
