Hare Creek Channel Deepened to Easing Flooding

City street department completed widening and deepening of Hare Creek channel for about two hundred feet below the main sewer outlet on the eastern hills. Edward Murrington supervised the work with debris removal to prevent blockages and improve flow. Commissioner Harrington and crew used waders to widen and deepen the creek improving flood safety in the Second Ward during heavy rain.

Tropic disturbance shifts to South Georgia in heavy rain

A tropical disturbance that became a hurricane near Pensacola moved into South Georgia with heavy rainfall.
