Drivers Held Negligent in Two Auto Crashes
A coroner jury found drivers negligent in two August crashes near Edinboro and Buffalo roads. Robert H. Matts, 19, and Richard Bailtree, 66, were named responsible after an incident that left Hugh Nesbitt 68 and his son Russell hospitalized. Kenneth Kimball died in the Buffalo road collision when his car, passed by Matts’ vehicle, collided with another westbound car.

Franklin Police Raid Raises City Treasury Funds

Former Warrenites Die in Florida Storm
Warren, Sept. 26. The deadly hurricane that struck Florida Sunday reached Warren with word that a former resident and her four year old son were drowned in the Lake Okeechobee disaster. Mrs J W Hughes formerly Miss Noel Denniston of Clarendon and Warren taught in the Fourth Ward, and her son Paul were lost in the storm. Information came from her sister Mrs Leonard Lindburg of Wesleyville who received a letter from Mr Hughes detailing the tragedy.

17 Year Sentence in Dunkirk Case Paths Public Shock
John Slojkowski, 46, of 9 Pane Golia Street in Dunkirk, was Tuesday sentenced to ten years hard labor in Auburn State Prison by Special County Judge James H. Prendergast. His crime involved poison in food for his wife and large family. He pleaded guilty through attorney John Len Sullivan after sanity was found by a Monday commission.
