Edward W Feldt general manager of Raymond division Associated Spring will speak for management on Responsibilities to the Community and Frank Coyle of ARL Iv staff will speak for labor on its role. The effort aims to unite management and labor for a common understanding with a new labor sponsored institute in Corry.
In Erie County court yesterday a drunk driving case against Lawrence Purpura of 74 West Pleasant Street was dropped due to lack of substantial evidence. The ruling followed questions about whether Purpura consented to a blood test as the judge noted such evidence would be inadmissible.

Maj. John Edeen aged 69 of 1216 Tilmore Avenue Brie died Sunday night in Bre hospital after long illness. Swedish born April 1, 184 and Salvation Army officer trained, he fathered Capt. Edven de He and seven other children. Surviving Elva Helberg Edeen, seven children and 21 grandchildren. Funeral services set for 2:00 PM tomorrow at Edgar Nelson Funeral Home at 21st and Myrtle Streets, Evie.
West Islip AP Mark Tuten ten was left in critical condition after doctors amputated his leg. He had been struck by a car in front of his Babylon home last Tuesday. Doctors had earlier sewn the mangled limb back on and joined severed bones with metal pins, but infection forced the second operation to save his life.
Cuban authorities accuse United States planes of intruding twice in 48 hours over Orientes northern coast and three incursions into Cuban territorial waters. Havana today gave details of air patrols and warned Washington of ongoing monitoring. The report names Oriente Province and northern coast locations implicated in the incidents.
Massachusetts voters weigh Kennedy versus Lodge in a Senate primary race as age experience and party backing shape a high profile feud. Edward M. Former President Herbert Hoover was released from Columbus Presbyterian Medical Center where he had surgery on August 28 to remove a malignant intestinal tumor. A hospital spokesman said Hoover would finish convalescence at his suite in the Waldorf Astoria Towers. Hoover, 88, entered the hospital on August 20 and his condition is listed as excellent.
