Eve County Temperance Union meeting at First Methodist
The second annual Eve County Women s Christian Temperance Union session is set for Friday at the First Methodist Church with three meetings at 10 am 1 pm and 7 15 pm. Attendees should bring a box lunch and the union will provide coffee and dessert. A white ribbon recruiting tie ceremony is planned and Rev Owen W Shields will be the principal speaker. Suspect in Amity Township Fire Held on Suspicions
Erie State Police seek two court appointed psychiatrists to aid in questioning Robert Middleton, 30, after he allegedly started a fire that damaged the home, displaced his wife and five children. Middleton was detained after being found unconscious in a ditch near the scene and released from Stem Memorial Hospital earlier in the day. Fire cause unclear, authorities say.
