Hope For Investors Cleared To Access Funds In Butler
Judge Clyde Shumaker ruled Thursday that funds may be released from the Wiling men’s Building and Loan Association. Mae H. Wheeler former secretary treasurer faces week of Sept 11 embezzlement charges for about $460,000. A $240,000 bonding company check will partly cover the shortage and fund release to investors. Wheeler’s attorney argued payment risks her right to a fair trial while Workingmen’s counsel said the money funds another loan association.
