Ambassador Arthur H. Dean returned from Geneva to Washington where he is eyed as U.S. disarmament negotiator if a general disarmament conference is arranged with the Soviet Union. President Kennedy hopes to keep him in a high role and Dean may lead the delegation if talks proceed. Dean is to join the U.N. General Assembly delegation starting Sept 19 and would handle fallout from the Geneva talks. He met with Kennedy after returning as McCloy prepares to renew discussions with the Soviet Union represented by Veluran Zora. Dean, 62, is a New York lawyer with a history of negotiating with Communists and leading delegations to Geneva and Panmunjom.
Route 1 collision in Corry Instrument Co Parking lot left two cars damaged with no injuries. Dorothy By Proctor 61 backed onto Route 6 while Lyle M Ladd 30 drove from the lot and struck the Proctor car rear right. Damages listed as 125 for Proctor and 5 for Ladd. Possible charges pending.
