Freed from Japs Arrives in U S After Three Years
Paul V. Rouse of Wattsburg has reached the United States after more than three years as a prisoner of war held by Japan. He was at Fukuoka prison camp on Honshu and was returned to military control on September 13, 1945. His wife Betty Rouse of Erie and parents James and unnamed mother in Wattsburg await his homecoming likely this weekend or Monday.

Services Held For Mrs Henrietta at St Elizabeth Church
Funeral services for Mrs Henrietta were conducted at St Elizabeth Church with a requiem mass in memory of the deceased. Rev Carl Heidi led the service as friends attended and floral offerings filled the church. Burial followed at St Elizabeth Cemetery with bearers named. Out of town mourners included Joseph Nollinger of Chicago and families from Erie Warren Cleveland Meadville and Warren.

The award dated October 10 at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri honors his actions April 7 1945 near Siegen Germany where he exposed himself to cross fire to rescue a wounded man and then led his platoon through heavy fire to seize the objective.
