Alexandria, Egypt October 18 British Warships saved passengers and crew of the Italian liner Ausonia after an explosion set the ship afire and wounded six crew members. The ship steamed in with flames. picket boats evacuated the last passenger as the fire reached the cabins. The blaze destroyed the liner interior and three of the boiler room crew died in hospital.

Edinger Wins Damage Action After Erie County Trial
A Erie County civil court jury ruled in favor of Norman Edinger in a damage suit brought by Mrs. Harry Alexander of Frantin Street over an August 24 1934 Hare Creek Road collision near the Alexander farm. The trial began last Wednesday and wrapped after about two hours of deliberation. Erie May Get 1936 Grand Encampment Meeting
Erie may host the 1936 convention of the Pennsylvania Grand Encampment, Independent Order of Old Fellows, after Harrisburg closed its 106th annual session. Officers for 1926 were named yesterday but elections occur in March. Next year’s convention site will be decided by the executive committee with sessions possibly in Erie or York.
