A 50 year old Franklin man formerly of Titusville died at 6 50 p m in Titusville Hospital from injuries after his auto left the right side of Route 27 near the first curve above the bridge east of Titusville and struck the guard rail. State Police investigated and deputy coroner withheld verdict pending investigation noting probable accidental death. The crash occurred Saturday night with the driver alone, suffered lacerations and a dislocated left hip.
The 14 year old Higin youth from Elgin was found unharmed near the Union City reservoir around 9 am by Elmer Simpson, after an all day search by state police, local firemen, and residents. The rifle taken from the family home was found at his feet. Police continue an investigation with no motive given.

Democratic candidate John F Kennedy leads Nixon in a cinema and supermarket popcorn poll. Kennedy gathers 54.5 percent of the ballots, Nixon 53.7 percent, according to results compiled by popcorn promoter Jim Blevins.
Newhouse production manager for the Oregonian was wounded Sunday night by a blast fired through a basement window at his Portland home. Police said the shot hit his right hip and thigh as he worked at a bench. he underwent surgery and was listed in fair condition. The 41 year old relative of Conde Nast owner 8. T. Newhouse was struck by embedded shot pieces, with family noting the blast sounded like an explosion.
SCHENECTADY NY AP Striking workers at General Electric Co plant here heeded local leaders and returned to their jobs resuming work after a split between local and ten leaders of the International Union of Electrical Workers. About 20 pickets with signs gathered at the main gate while earlier reports noted hastily set lines and patrols at other plant gates. No disturbances were reported as some first shift workers entered. The back to work move followed the leadership decision of Local 5.
An American tourist, Mark I Kaminsky of Jefferson City Michigan, was expelled and sentenced to seven years for spying in the Soviet Union. Tass and Moscow Radio said he admitted photographing military sites and carrying coded notes. He entered last July with Harvey Bennett of Tracy California. both were arrested August 25 en route from Moscow to Minsk.
