Last night city officials discussed delays caused by a misrouted state financial statement for the Spring street improvement bond. Council heard requests for sidewalks on West Pleasant street and action to finish walk construction in front of the Movella property. Hammond Elevator Co. won a coal contract for the municipal building over N. Cohen & Sons.
Prof Somers of Sharon performed at St Edward's parochial school with trained birds and animals and sleight of hand. The matinee for children drew praise while the evening program featured cornet by Charles Burkhardt and singing by Miss Ressler. He plans shows at Junior High and Senior High today and at the High School auditorium tonight. Franke M Raymond left for Buffalo on business for Raymond Manufacturing Co.

Dr I A Darling of Warren spoke at the weekly Rotary luncheon at the Hotel Corry in favor of a state bond issue to fund additional welfare institutions. He urged support for the November vote and highlighted needs for hospitals for the feeble minded and insane, prisons, and related state facilities.
Erie County commissioners announced at yesterday's meeting that the Corry to Spartansburg and Franklin Center to Lavery Conn roads, each about three miles, are slated for construction in 1929 with an estimated cost near 210000. Funding from county bonds and treasury remains to support the project, pending state aid and local cooperation.
A Dodge touring car driven by Ludwig Kolacek of Dimond Pa skidded on a wet pavement west of Mead and Brown filling station, leaving the road and striking a tree. The car was badly damaged. Kolacek and his grandchildren escaped with minor injuries after being towed to a Dodge service station. A second vehicle allegedly forced the car off the road.
