Charter Flight Delayed Eight Hours in Erie
A Las Vegas bound DC-8 charter flight from Erie International was delayed eight hours when a hydraulic lift needed to change a flat tire could not be shipped in from Cleveland. The plane, carrying about 250 passengers, finally departed at 6 p.m. after tools and an air starter were arranged. Passengers waited at the terminal, and a tour director expressed relief at being airborne once the delay ended.
