A 60x140 foot barn at John Nelson’s Miles Hill farm, four miles off Route 1, burned last night around 7 p.m. Wrightsville VFD and 40 volunteers from Columbus, Bear Lake and Spring Creek fought the fire for about four and a half hours. the barn was a total loss with no livestock harmed. Tools and hay were destroyed, no injuries reported, and the cause was under investigation with a theory of damp hay triggering spontaneous combustion.
