Agnew Urges Greece Aid, Says Ban Harms U S Policy
Vice President Spiro T. Agnew warned aboard his plane that Congress would impair U S foreign policy if it bans military aid to Greece. He stressed Greece as a key NATO member and said restricting aid would hinder protecting the United States. Agnew noted domestic opinion toward Greece reflects on him and defended U S security interests in Turkey and NATO. He planned to travel to Turkey and Iran, then Greece, with future references to commemorations and his ancestral ties.
