Charles Cariion, formerly of Oy IB, now in this city, was jailed for 20 days after a prior fine of 451 dollars for operating a motor vehicle without a license. He faced arraignment before Alderman Gordon. Reports say he held a revoked New York license and was driving without valid credentials.

Buffalo Oct 10 One man was killed and another seriously injured when the Wabash fast express from Detroit to Buffalo plowed into a through freight near Robbins Ont twenty five miles from Buffalo early today. The dead are John McGregor of St Thomas Ont engineer of the passenger train and his fireman William Tolney address unknown. No passengers were hurt.
In St Paul and Superior, Sen Charles Curtis backs state and local Republicans, endorsing LaFollette and Minnesota nominee Nelson as Hoover Curtis appeals. LaFollette refuses full Hoover endorsement, keeping options open while Markham and Reilly seek his support. Both major parties hope LaFollette will side with them to win Wisconsin.
Charles Harold Morrow, 29, a Canadian bank absconder, turned over to St. Louis police. The Star reports he fled with 8,200 dollars from a Sterling Bank of Canada branch in Ontario on June 29, 1928, later traveling to Des Moines where he was said to have swindled 4,500 dollars.

Mrs Irwin Galation, badly hurt in a Union City crash that killed her husband, remains in serious condition at Union City hospital.
