Savalas Won’t Testify In Zamora TV Murder Case
Miami defense attorney Ellis Rubin dropped the bid to compel Telly Savalas to testify in the Ronny Zamora case. Judge Baker barred psychologist Margaret Hanratty Thomas from testifying as an expert. Zamora and co defendant Darrell Agrella, both charged with first degree murder, are tried as adults. Zamora’s mother testified her son, once a Kojak fan, changed markedly before the shooting of 83-year-old Elinor Haggart.

Erie attorney George Schroeck 64 surrendered to Erie Police Chief Sam Gemelli at City Hall after warrants issued September 23 for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned before District Justice Elliott Lefaiver, released on his own recognizance, with a preliminary hearing set for October 12 at 2 30 p m.

Infant survives separation of conjoined twins in Arkansas
Dr Steve Galladay led a four member team in Little Rock as surgeons separated two thoracopagus twins born Sept 14. One infant died during the five hour operation. The remaining seven pound girl, paralyzed on the right side, is in critical condition with a 90 to 50 percent chance of survival. The operation required a legal opinion and no charges will be filed if death occurs.
