Harry Rhodes of Lawrence Park High School, son of Mrs Iva Rhodes, begins a 45 day study tour of European educational systems. The group of 30 NEA chosen educators will visit Berlin Warsaw Moscow Tblisi Kiev Leningrad Helsinki Copenhagen Geneva Paris and London to inspect schools and teaching methods. Rhodes is a supervising principal and an Edinboro State Teachers College graduate.

Three Cubans hijack a Cubana Airlines Viscount in Havana and force it to land in Miami. Immigration authorities withheld details at their request. The flight carried only a crew of four and no passengers en route from Havana to Santiago. This marks the fourth U S landings by hijacked planes since April.
Theodore Mc Masters 35 of Duncanaville Pa had his trial for drunk driving and involuntary manslaughter postponed. Six members of the Wilmer Bini family died June 8 when police say Mc Masters shoved the Hin ish car into another vehicle. Masters remains jailed unable to meet $7,500 bail as attorneys seek more time to prepare defense.
