Jamestown reports three gunmen burst into Arthur C Lofgren’s East Second Street market at 10 15 Wednesday night aiming to grab holiday receipts. Lofgren slammed the safe door and froze the robbers who fled in a car. the cash on hand exceeded 300. Marven Lofgren, an employee, entered during the scare as others hid. Police say they have clues but no license number for the fleeing vehicle.

Rail yard injury sends engineer home to recover
The Pittsburgh area report states railroad engineer William Taft of Duquesne City was injured October 20 when he fell between two cars at the Insletmenas junction yards near New Kensington. He suffered a fractured spine but is reported improving and was brought home from Citizens General Hospital for treatment.
