Negro youth admits murder in holdup at Ford City
In Kittanning Pennsylvania on November 28 a 24-year-old Negro youth named Frank Riley confessed to shooting Paul Szajna a 64 year old Ford City grocer during an attempted holdup. Riley claimed Szajna threatened him with a knife and he shot Szajna three times in the abdomen before dying at a hospital after emergency surgery. Patrolman Nick Zagadei arrested Riley within an hour of the shooting and Riley supplied a description of the bandit.
