GORPUS CHRISTI Tex Nov 9 Twenty one officers and men were killed last night when two Mariners patrol seaplanes collided about 200 feet above the bay near Spoil Island both planes sank. Six survivors were rescued, one died later at the naval hospital and four remained in good condition.
Paris Nov 9 The U S Army presses a determined search to recover and identify the bodies of 22 000 unknown American soldiers buried in homeless graves between Normandy beaches and Berlin wreckage.
British planes dropped leaflets at Soerabaja ordering unconditional Indonesian surrender by 6 am tomorrow. Allied leaders warned that naval, land, and air forces would back the move. In central Java observers say 100,000 Indonesians may resist, with calls for peace via United Nations or U.S. arbitration. Five of six Glenn Mills School escapees recaptured near Media, Pennsylvania.
