City voters face election day with the plan to choose three council members and a mayor. City Hall will be closed for the day as the town awaits results likely to impact many civil service positions. United Press reports that Peiping was placed under Japanese police control today as gendarmes began arresting Chinese suspected of supporting the anti-Japanese Blue Shirts. Japanese officials claimed no formal demand to dissolve the local military council but indicated it may be abolished.

Mr and Mrs Blimmons announce the marriage of their granddaughter Mildred Arlene Smith of Meadville to Stanley Sturrock of Meadville on Wednesday October 30 at Jamestown New York by Rev Charles M McIntyre former pastor of the United Brethren in Christ Church. The couple was attended by Mr and Mrs Vincent Williams of Bemus Point and Miss Cecil Sturrock and Paul Reeve of Meadville. Sturrock a Meadville High School graduate class of 1933 and Smith a Corry High School graduate class of 1933. After a trip to Niagara Falls and Canada they reside at 321 Columbia Avenue Meadville.
Fourteen members of the Mentor Club met at Mrs. Wil amy Myers home in Concord last evening. The main paper by Mrs. Jessie K. Newton continued studying Pennsylvania and its state for entg and game preserves. A lunch of sandwiches small cakes and coffee was served. The next meeting will be with Miss Elizabeth Ranney of East Main street on November 18. Master Glen McKinney has returned to his studies after a four week illness at his East Main street home.
