Strike Tightens Fishing Rates at Erie
ERIE Pa Nov 5 The local fishing industry faced a strike that disrupted operations for about 100 fishermen and 80 workers after operators cut the price paid to fishermen from five to four cents a pound to compete with Canadian boats paying tee cents a pound. Each cooperative host pays wages based on each man’s share of the catch, and unusually large hauls have kept boats bringing in full loads for the first time in years.

Auto and Truck Collision Injures Two Women in Titusville Area

Youth well known in Corry dies in crash
Stanley Graham 31 of North East Pennsylvania, a Slippery Rock Teachers College freshman, died when a motorcycle overturned near Corry. His brother John, a college senator, was bruised but could not recount the crash. Sons of Squire Gus Graham of North East, they were well known locally and summered at Findley Lake, leaving many shocked friends.
