Palmer Flat But How About Mound In Milwaukee Park
Palmer described his effort as not one of his better games as he labored through eight innings in a 5-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers at County Stadium. The Brewers seized on the flat Milwaukee mound and late misplays, while Palmer faded after seven frames. The Red Sox also beat the Indians 7-5 as Rick Miller's three hits fueled Boston. Other notable results include Detroit defeating New York 3-1 on Rusty Staub's three-run homer in the eighth, and California topping Texas with a three-run shot by Orlando Alomar.
