Hospital conditions with staff shortage and renovation work led to a citywide sale away from the hospital itself. Mrs A S Boag and Mrs Percy Corbin lead plans with a Girl Scouts street sale handling tag distribution.
The Carter Hill Telephone Company once a farmer owned line serving the district, after 39 years ceases as patrons shift to Wattsburg Telephone Company. The lines built in 1906 linked to a Mutual system, later connected with Wattsburg exchange and Bell network, ending independent operations. The change ends Carter Hill independence in local telephony.
