Electric rate cut approved for 40000 Pennsylvania customers
The Pennsylvania Power Company serving about 40,000 customers in Lawrence, Mercer and parts of Beaver, Butler and Allegheny counties filed a reduced rate schedule with the Public Service Commission. Effective April 15, the new tariff offers two residential rates, with urban and suburban distinctions, and an "immediate rate" for suburban areas. An "objective rate" allows higher kilowatt hour usage at little or no extra cost for all residents meeting year over year usage increases.
