Snow map clash over Corry snow removal effort

A Corry Journal editorial urged PennDOT to place more snow removal equipment in the Corry area, noting Corry has Pennsylvania’s heaviest annual snowfall. PennDOT deputy chief engineer David C. Sims replied that funding targets traffic flow and total lane miles by county, not snowfall, citing Erie, Dauphin, and Montgomery counties. Major Issue Questions Set For Ballot

Probation Set For Corry Men In Burglary Case

Two Corry men John Willis and Frederick Carter pled guilty to three counts of burglary and one count of malicious mischief in Erie County Court in 1970 were placed on three year probation by Judge Edward Carney. They had been in Camp Hill Correctional Institute since last year after a trial that included a Wattsburg laundry and Conway School case. They testified in January in the retrial of accomplices John Amacher and James Shields.

Plan to Extend Blue Shield to Nursing Home Residents
