Corry GI Receives Coveted Combat Infantry Badge

Army Pfc. Dale G. Black of Corry, son of Mr and Mrs Homer G Black, received the Combat Infantry Badge with the 23rd Infantry Division in Vietnam. Originating in World War II, the CIB honors infantrymen who perform in active ground combat and is worn above all other decorations. Black earned the badge after basic training at Fort Dix New Jersey and prior duty at Fort Ord California before overseas deployment.

Charges Man In Stabbing Death

Corry Woman Injured In Route 27 Crash

Kathryn V. Hettrick a 23 year old Corry resident sustained injuries in a Route 27 crash near Titusville. She was in satisfactory condition at Titusville Hospital after a head on collision with Betty J. Prody 23 of Titusville. Prody was treated and released. Damages totaled 1200 across both cars. Two additional area crashes near Corry reported no injuries.

Tests Find No New Meningitis Cases In County

PITTSBURGH AP The Allegheny County Health Department says no new meningitis cases have been found among pupils in five suburban schools. Of 340 throat cultures, five were potential carriers. They were referred to family physicians and their immediate families were to report for lab tests Saturday, the health department said.
