Khrushchev Appears in Public Amid Low Awareness
Nikita Khrushchev resurfaced in Moscow with only a comparative handful of the Soviet Union's 228 million people aware of his return after five months out of power. He visited his wife at their new apartment, voted at a Kremlin area booth, and left toward his country home, appearing ruddy and fit despite his ouster. He quipped that he felt "like a pensioner not bad."
