Train death at North East ruled as suicide
Coroner's jury in Erie on Thursday ruled that Charles Stone, 84, of Los Angeles, jumped from a speeding New York Central express east of North East on February 10, dying as a result. The verdict absolves the railroad of blame. Stone carried almost $2,000, and testimony suggested the door he plunged from could be opened. Daughter Lillian Bilkenis of Richford, N C, had not seen him in 40 years but they had corresponded and he spoke of good health before his death.
