In foggy conditions near Old Manomoy Light the Grecian of Boston beached southwest of the light after a collision with the Evangeline of the Eastern Steamship Company. Initial Coast Guard reports misidentified the Dorchester as the other vessel. Dorchester stood by, then left two hours later as the Trangeline continued its voyage from New York to Nova Scotia.
